Buddha Garden (Buddha Jayanti Park), Delhi

The Buddha Garden ( Buddha Jayanti Park) is situated on the Ridge Road near Dhaula Kuan. The park was built in the commemoration of the 2500th Anniversary of the Lord Gautam Buddha;s attainment of nirvana. The picturesque garden has several paved pathways along with lush landscaped lawns and blossoming of flowers with streams sloping through terrain and hige trees all around adding to the beauty of the garden. There is also a sapling of Bodhi tree which is bought from Sri Lanka and planted at this place and also the saplings holds great significance for Buddhist followers and it has been also taken from Bodh Gaya.

The garden is very popular among the couples who could be seen roaming around and sometimes in a public display affection mode which may create some unease atmosphere, so if you are carrying your family of young and elders alike it is just to keep in mind. The well manicured garden has also a beautiful idol of Buddha which lies at one corner of the park and the significance of the garden lies in fact that saplings of all kinds are planted here. The location is near Ridge road and is easily accessible from Rajiv Chowk metro station.

The Buddha Jayanti Smarak Park or Buddha Garden is situated just near of the Dhaula Kuan in south-west Delhi. It was established on 2500th birthday anniversary of the Lord Buddha. A tree planted by Prime minister of the India Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1964 which special tree was come from Sri Lanka. Every year on May month of the full moon day people celebrate Lord Buddha birthday festival. This park has Lord Buddha statues and an artificial island.
