Salimgarh Fort

Salimgarh Fort is located on the bank of the Yamuna River just back of the red fort and nearby of the old Iron bridge. This was constructed in 1546 by Islam Shah Suri (Sur Dynasty) which was son of Sher Shah Suri. Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb used it to prison purpose. Now India government it converted in a Museum as Swatantrata Senani Smarak.

Nearest other tourist attractions: Red Fort, Vijay Ghat, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat and other Memorials.
