Qila Rai Pithora

Qila Rai Pithora is one of the fort at Delhi which is built by Prithvi Raj Chauhan and is the reminder of his glorious past with the iconic lover boy image tagged with him. The original hero who took the glory of Rajputana to the borders of Afghanistan and beyond. The country has preserved this heritage and the gateway of Rai Pithora Fort is made in the best of the reconstructed form with the grass and other rock formation with the lighting and manicuring which gives it a splendid look. The outer wall of Qila Rai Pithora is thankfully not in shambles and reminds of the glorious kingdom and the remnants are scattered in Saket, Mehrauli around Qutub Complex with Kishangarh and Vasant Kunj area.

The Fort is visited by several tourists and is taken care under the Archaeological Survey of India, which has explored its hidden corners to bring out the new remnants and some of the part facing the Tughlaqabad Air Force Station from where one could see the Air Force Officers taking their mean machines to great heights and has been part of many Bollywood movies as well, also with better Delhi Police presence it is one of the safe place to visit with PCR’s zooming around at the vicinity.

Qila Rai Pithora is built by King Prithviraj Chauhan in 12th-century. Fort's only walls remains now. Some walls exist in south Delhi area, saket, mehrauli, qutb complex, vasant kunj area. Lal Kot fort was oldest fort of the Delhi city. It was built by Tomars rulers. When Chauhan rulers started from 1160 then built Qila Rai Pithora. It was combined structures of new and old fort which spread in 6.5 kilo meters.
