Rashtrapati Bhawan (President house of India)

Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi is the permanent residential house of the President of India and was built by Lutyen’s during the British rule of India. The location is on the western end of Rajpath in New Delhi and was the official residence of Viceroy’s house with three rooms and the main building covered 5 acres on an estate of 330 acres. It is one of the largest residences for any state of the world. The majestic piece or the architectural marvel has many sections or blocks with as many as 340 rooms which includes President’s official residence and it includes reception halls along with the guest rooms and offices with a huge presidential garden called the Mughal garden and the certain section of the Rashtrapati bhavan Mughal garden is open for the general public for a certain section of month during the spring season.

There is a museum inside the bhavan which was recently incorporated and was inaugurated by former President Mr. Pranab Mukherjee and one could get educated about various details of the lives of earlier presidents. Reaching the Rastrapati Bhavan needs a long procedure and one has to put online application along with citing the reason or the purpose of visit.

Located to the northern side of Rajpath, the Parliament Street is very well connected by public transport. If you wish to witness and experience live sessions in the parliament, you need a permission letter from the reception counter at Raisina Road.
