Purana Qila (Old Fort)

Purana Quila is one of the most fascinating fort made during the reign of Mughal King Shah Suri and is one of the ancient forts along with some of the historians associating it with Pandav Kingdom as the Old Bhairov Temple is located there. The country has many forts dotted at various corners but the only one with the moat at Delhi making it a fort with a difference. It also has the Mosque Qila-I-Kuhna and also the Sher Mandal which is named for Farid Sher Shah who tried to complete the fort which was initiated by Babur and was ordered until the arrival of Humayun.
The three entrances of the Purana Quila are Humayun Darwaza along with Bara Darwaza and the Talaqi Darwaza with the architecture which is splendid and magnificent with three popular things to see at Purana Quila which has been stated above and the third one is small museum. In this way, the beautiful fort has tons of things to do with boating, shopping and the wish to savoring delicacies can be fulfilled with travelling around the various nearby attractions such as Delhi Zoo along with India Gate and Nizamuddin’s shrine could be initiated in the itinerary thus making it a great point for many college students who throng it during winters and summers alike.

Purana Qila (Old Fort) is a famous tourist place which is also the oldest fort of the Delhi city. It was built by Sher Shah Suri during 1540 tp 1545. Sher Shah Suri was the founder of the Sur Empire which period was 1540 to 1556. This fort also has Qila-i-Kuhna Mosque & Sher Mandal.
