National Handicrafts & Handlooms Museum, Delhi

The handicrafts museum, Delhi is known as national crafts museum in New Delhi and with the Ministry of Textiles, which is situated on the corner of the Pragati Maidan Shilpotsav and it faces the Purana Quila complex. It was the national crafts museum and the national handicrafts and museum houses more than 35,000 unique pieces which has paid a tribute to the Indian history of arts and cultures. The Indian craftsmen and the skills across different genres such as paintings along with sculpture, embroideries and textile designing along with craft which involves clay modeling and the tribal and rural craft gallery are also a part of it.

The various programs which have given the people a way to understand India and its way to inspire through the Shilpotsav as an exhibition present with the collection of crafts museum with the crafts demonstration programme along with the 50 craftsperson who are invited every month from September with 30 years starting in the 1950’s and 60’s and reflects the continuing tradition of eminent contribution by the freedom fighters out of which Shrimati Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay, contributed in a significant manner and her presence could be felt although no more with us within the museum complex with the research and documentation with the conservation laboratory along with photo laboratory and an auditorium and is open from 9:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
