Cathedral Church

Cathedral Church of Redemption, New Delhi

Cathedral Church is one of the known Church which is also called the cathedral church of the redemption and is based on the present Church which is made under the founder vision of a common home with the meeting place for all sects and creeds. The church is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of New Delhi, with the quiet church lane north of Jaipur column with the west of parliament house at North Avenue which stands to the testimony of the English Gentleman. The Church is a witness to nearly eight decades of history with the sanctuary made for quiet meditation along with prayer and generous giving.

The Church is a living example to the wondeful tribute to Christian life which is predominantly Indian as people from other sects have also become a part of the culture. The Jesus who always propagated the path of truth and justice has found an eminent place in the heart of every religion ad the discourse by the pastors on Sunday Mass is attended by many people with different time during Summer and Winters along with Music extravaganza attached to it where people take part in the singing of choirs and orchestra of the Church playing music which is soothing to ears.

Cathedral Church of the Redemption (Viceroy Church) is located just near of the Parliament House and Rashtrapati Bhavan Buildings in New Delhi. It was used by Governor-General of India during British ruled. It was completed in January 1931 and designed by Henry Medd. During British ruled, general public can not visit this church but after independence 1947 normal public can worship here.
