Akshardham Temple, Delhi

Akshardham Temple is one of the best architectural marvel built by the disciples of Swaminarayan and the complex is on the waterfront of Yamuna at Delhi although Yamuna flows on the back of it. The river ecosystem was a major concern while building but the Forest & Environment Ministry has given a nod to it. The sprawling temple is build on NH-24 i.e. the Akshardham Setu and there is an entry fee before getting into it. The entry fee varies for Adults, Senior Citizen and Child along with under age children. The complex was created in 2005 in Noida and almost 70% of tourists who visit Delhi come for the sightseeing of this beautiful tourist attractions.
The Akshardham temple also have a central dome which contains main deity, Swaminarain and all the deities statues are made of Panchdhatus and the hall of values or also called as Sahjanand darshan features like robotic displays from various teachings. The Nilkanth Darshan stages 40 minutes film which displays film shown in giant screen and IMAX Theatres. The cultural boat ride spans 15 minutes and the Yugpurush Kund or Musical fountain gives the explanation of a Hindu sage through underwater flames, lives and many other such laser shows making it a great place to visit.

The Akshardham Templs, also known as the Delhi Akshardham or the Swaminarayan Akshardham, is one of the finest examples of Hindu art, culture and spirituality. The construction of this monument was inspired by Pramukh Swami Maharaj who is the spiritual head of the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha. The inception of the temple took place in 2005 and ever since, over 70 percent of Delhi’s tourists make their way to the structure.

The construction of the temple involved over 7000 artisans and the outcome is a fine example of their efforts. The temple, which is situated close to the banks of river Yamuna is built according to the rules of the Vastu Shastra and the Pancharatra Shastra. The complex consists of the main temple along with many smaller structures that exhibit scenes from the life of Swami Narayana. The murals and the engravings on the walls also consist of excerpts from the Upanishads and Indian History.

The temple has an IMAX feature about the life of yogi Swami Narayana. The musical fountain, Nilkanth is another famous feature of the Akshardham Temple. The beautifully landscaped gardens and the entire complex itself creates a great ambience of devotion and peace. You’ll find it tough to drag yourself away from the stunningly crafted walls of the temple.
